Do you think maybe, just maybe I've got too much time on my hands? I just love the English language. I would swear it was invented for the purpose of being able to change the terms of written contracts in order to rob people legally. What other language has six or seven different words that mean the same thing, only to different degrees. Ex. Cry, Sob, Grieve, and Wail. They all mean pretty much the same thing, only the perceived intensity is different, Or as my third grade English teacher (Miss Byrd) would say "The difference is the state of being." It wasn't until about twenty years later that I really understood what she meant. God bless her. If anyone else has heard anything different about the "Holeshot" thing, weather real or imagined, please pass it on. I would appreciate it. Yeah, when I was in grade school, one of our punishments was to write the definition of Runthere were like 54 definitions of the one word LOL (back then. Might be more now) That was worse than writing on the chalk board a hundred times. (yes they used chalk boards back in my day)

Yogi you are a great instructor. My silly questions are just for fun and you are actually teaching us some interesting stuff. The hole shot thing was interesting and well as the Hashish / hassasin / assassin. I am just surprised you did not come up with a scientific study saying women should avoid wearing the dreaded bra! I do not think your questions are silly. I used to ask the same kinds of questions myself, that's what got me started on this stuff. Since nobody I knew had an answer, I started digging on my own. The more I learned, the more interesting some of the answers were. Now it's a full blown addiction, I just can't help myself. Now, if I could just learn something that someone would be willing to pay for.

Hey AC, Arn't you in Florida? Will that hurricane be a problem for you? Yeah Peg I am in South West Florida. Everybody is battening down for the storm. It is supposed to just be a Cat#1 so should not be too bad. But it is a big storm and moving slow so we will get lots of rain and flooding. I am hearing that ABC might not show the race due to storm coverage. Stupid if that happens as we are a day away from storm problems. Thanks for caring Peg.

It is Monday afternoon and all is fine here. Was not all that big a deal. We were lucky. I am watching the weather radar on the computer at www.nbc-2.com/category/170825/interactive-hurricane-tracker and the East coast is getting heavy rain while we are closer to the storm and have some Sun. Go figure? Thanks for the kind thoughts.

I have a question about these people that do the mass public shootings. Why don't they ever do their heinous acts at a public shooting range?

I have a question about these people that do the mass public shootings. Why don't they ever do their heinous acts at a public shooting range? The perpetrators of those crimes should be studied to determine if they are a product of today's screwed up values because of a desire to become famous since the news reports do in depth coverage of the shooters or perhaps the digital games that are played so constantly have an effect on certain types of personalities. The use of Controlled Dangerous Substances is also suspect in creating a personality that seeks this type of attention. One thing for sure. They would avoid a public range where people are armed and could protect themselves.
