Regarding sponsers, this is NOT the good ole days of racing of 20 years ago, or for that matter even ten years ago. Sponsers of Rusty (Kodiak), DW (Tide), Petty (STP) did not care about their drivers being great spokesmen for them. In today's world, I am not sure when it changed, but a driver must be a good role model and spokesman for their sponsors. All you have to do is look how many drivers do commercials for them. Biggest one that comes to mind is that Gillette Fusion commercial with them popping out of a cake. Would Dale Sr. ever do a commercial like that, joing Rusty and DW all popping out? No. What about Carl and his Subway commercials or Mears and the Geico ads. Times have changed and marketing is how it is nowadays. I know that most people who see these ads have no clue who the spokesman is i.e. Mears, but the ones who do, fans of NASCAR, do know who they are and it is just the reality of it but if a driver is seen not as a role model, many fans do not purchase the products if they are a fan or not. It sucks, but that is how it is today

Watching Race Hub.
Something still percolating at the Gibb's shop about this weekend.
18 might be painted with the old Interstate Battery colors.
Did M&M MARS opt out of the Kyle sponsorship?
Press conference on Friday.

Press conference on Friday. I don't think a sponsor would opt out unless they were already looking for a reason to bail.

My honest opinion is that one contributing factor is Joe Gibbs has grown very tired of trying to mold Kyle into a driver that does not embarrass Joe Gibbs Racing. So he may be making him squirm a little. Joe without a doubt made him sit on the pit box as a form of discipline.

Just read a report that M&Ms is out for the rest of this year.
They will be back in 2012 if Kyle is being a good boy.
Not for nothin but he is an embarrassing spoiled child. Look at all the stuff he has been involved in. Over and over and over again he embarrasses his team.
Imagine being on the team and working so hard to see him destroy it on a temper tantrum.

Look at all the stuff he has been involved in. Over and over and over again he embarrasses his team. Imagine being on the team and working so hard to see him destroy it on a temper tantrum. This is from Yahoo. Kyle Busch, contrite and remorseful, promised Friday to change his behavior and conduct himself in a way that will restore the respect he lost with his road rage incident at Texas. It’s a long way back for Busch, and he’ll be on a very short leash. Busch has been warned by M&M’s that the primary sponsor will not tolerate any more incidents by him, and team owner Joe Gibbs said the driver is still facing further punishment for wrecking Ron Hornaday Jr. under caution in last week’s Truck Series race. NASCAR suspended Busch from all on-track activity at Texas, fined him $50,000 and placed the driver on probation through the end of the year. sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news;_ylt=AqJzpX4YyCSaPx4ud2od813ov7YF?slug=ap-nascar-phoenix

It is Monday and I am watching Race Hub on SPEED.
They started another conversation about Kyle............
Right about the time I am rolling my eyes and grumbling about it coming up again, Steve Byrnes mentions that he gets mail saying enough is enough but that he feels it is important enough to talk about.
Somebody pointed out that there are 200 employees at JGR and if they should loose MARS They could go down one team.
Kind of made me realize that Kyle has had an awful lot of chances to straighten up and fly right. So maybe it is ok that the racing reporters hound on him for a while. I for one am sick of him being a screw up and hope this is taken very seriously.
But.....we have been here before.

I am just plain tired of Kyle Busch. End of story. After this Sunday you will have about 2 months where you won't hear much, at all, about anything NASCAR. I hate the off season.

I am just plain tired of Kyle Busch. End of story. I'm on the other side. I think Nascar needs a couple more like Kyle. Too many Kennseth/Martin/Johnson/Burton/Kahne.
