No surprise they shut down their boards. It hasn't been the same in years. We used to have so much fun there. Too bad certain moderators ruined it.

The moderators were up to their eyeballs in trolls, idiots and baiters. I guess I was there for about five or six years and the only thing I saw mods do was rarely remove posts and put posters on times outs. The time outs stopped a long time ago. I think what really ruined it over there was the software change and the "regulars" who enjoyed it being a free for all.

I quit using the ESPN Racing boards when they went to the new robust boards. That made it a mess. Since I was on other racing boars that weren't so messed up & I ran out of ppl to talking racing with over there. I just stopped. However the football boards were crazy when it came to trolls threads were being replaced left & right. The people trolling were the ones having threads removed. I think if the boards shutdown over trolling it wasnt because of the racing board. That was tame compared to elsewhere.
Honestly I think they shutdown over money. As they were trying to get everyone over to facebook & with Disney now owning it. I think the shutting down of the boards is drivn by money & trying to get more traffic to their face book & twitter.

Having never gone to any other boards over there this is kind of news to me. But it makes a lot of sense. Higher volume board means more trolling.
I guess sports message boards are passe compared to Facebook and Twitter.

It occurred to me that my name is now obsolete. But.....maybe it jinxed the ESPN boards. Hmmmm. Maybe I can jinx the NASCAR Prince who is doing his best to run the CUP and Nationwide series both into the ground.

Jackman, I became friends with a mod on the espn board...major lack of judgement on my part. We emailed for awhile & I found out she was deliberately telling some humongous lies about a few of the longtime members. She would ban people just cuz she didn't like them or if they would say something against her driver. Her biggest lie was her claim that the FBI was investigating the board cuz of a longtime member was a child molester. After that b.s., I was done.

Neither time I had a clue what I did to deserve my time out. Guess they didn't like intelligent posting when in a debate is all I could figure.
