The heavyweights Klitschko & Fury, were going to fight for Klitschko’s WBA, IBO, IBF and WBO belts at Dussedorf's Esprit Arena, Sat, Oct 24 2015 on HBO boxing. The bout has been postponed due to a partial tear in Klitschko left calf muscle. Klitschko suffer the leg injury just one day after the bizarre press conference that saw Fury arrive dressed as Batman.
“The clinical and MRI-examination showed a partial musculotendinous tear of the left calf,” said Dr. Muller-Wohlfahrt, “The boxing fight planned for October 24 should be postponed for an indefinite period of time. Due to this injury we strictly recommend ceasing athletic activity in the next weeks.”
Klitschko stated: “I know that a lot of fans have already organized their trips to support me in Düsseldorf. I am so sorry that I am not able to fight on October 24. I also apologize to my opponent, who has spent many weeks preparing for this fight. I will do my very best to recover as fast as possible.”
Fury said: “It was only on Wednesday that I was face to face with him and I knew he (Klitschko) wouldn’t fight, I knew he would pull out.”
No word on when it will be rescheduled however tickets will remain valid for the rearranged date, which should be revealed at some point next week.
