The other night I watched this miserable bitch walk around the stage at the Emmy Awards like the Hollywood princess she has always been treated as. Smug in thousands of dollars in clothing and jewels she prances and gets treated royalty. She even had the gall to find fault with a song in the program that featured a list of women who had appeared topless in films as being in bad taste. Of course her topless appearance in Barbarella didn't count. I could care less about the song or her dress code. But it shows again how a person in a few films with a famous father and brother who is a head case too can look the USA right in the eye via TV and behave as if she is above us even after totally turning her back on some of us.
Folks, most of the soldiers who went to Vietnam were in the 19 to 26 year bracket. Most had seen fathers, uncles and friends get drafted and complete military service. Most just did what was expected of them at that time in history and their one goal upon arrival in that country was to survive and get home. Trust me, none of them were politicians or war mongers. They were little more than teenagers who thought they were doing their duty just like those before them.
Lately I have noticed Vietnam Vets being portrayed in some news cast as eccentric, unattractive and pathetic. I would like to point out that the freakish Vietnam vets brought to your attention by today's media are only a small percentage of the people that were drafted or enlisted during those years and served in the Republic of South Vietnam. The majority are probably related to the people I will be sending this to, or they lived next door to one of these vets or their daughters married one of these vets or they worked with these vets or maybe they are one of these vets. You see there were a lot of these men who went overseas, came home and went out into the work place with never going to a rally, never wearing a veteran cap or putting a Vietnam vet bumper sticker on their car. They just did what was expected and went on with life. Now after being productive citizens who raised families and contributed to their communities they are painted with a wide brush on the media as recluses, burned out druggies or drunks with no teeth. Not true. They are normal people in your neighborhood who have been good friends and trusted coworkers.
Yet still after all these years Hanoi Jane prances around in front of cameras as an icon of the superstar good life. Telling Americans what she demands they hear. Allowed to hurt her country and many servicemen who were so unfortunate as to become prisoners of the enemy of the USA. Think about it. Being held captive in a foreign land and a movie star from your country comes over and poses for pictures with the people who have tortured you and executed your friends.
It is disgraceful that she is allowed to be on stage or American television. But the 'better than us bunch' in Hollywood treat her as a princess to be honored and respected.
I have more respect for a $20 shoplifter. At least with that you know what you have.
