pretty much what I expected for the 1st 11 rounds. Martinez fighting what should be a light heavyweight in Chavez was too small to really hurt Chavez but was way to skilled. Winning every round. In the 12th round Martinez did get dropped in the 12th round which was the only round he lost. he won a decision. Now everyone is making a huge deal about it, & now demanding a rematch. Everyone is trying to give some kinda angle why this time Chavez could win it.
Got news for all of you thinking this. Barring a lucky punch which is possible in any fight, Chavez would have no chance at winning. Martinez opened himself up in the 11th & 12th round trying to get a knockout. Which is why he got caught in the 12th round. They say Chavez will bring it to him sooner next time around, where as now martinez knows he cant just KO the much bigger fighter, & will use his skill to stay away & still be hitting the slow Chavez. Chavez will fatigue earlier & when he is completely out of gas, might actually get Ko'd by Martinez. If this doesnt happen what will happen is Martinez dominate Chavez pitching a one sided shutout for a decision.
Bottom line I hope there isnt a rematch. Chavez is still to unskilled to take on the better fighters. He simply relies on being a bigger fighter to win his fights. At times being 15 to 20lbs bigger on fight night.
If there is a rematch. Even with all the hype the media will try & muster for Chavez, to sell tickets, expect a one sided victory from martinez.
BTW Martinez hurt in the 12th round & also tore two ligaments in his knee Chavez still didnt have the skill to finish him.

We were out so I missed the first 4 rounds.
It was a boxing demo till that 12th. round. Actually still a demo how Martinez fought through it with the torn ligaments.
There will be a rematch. Too much money at stake not to have one.

I cant believe a human being can gain that much weight overnight. that is simply amazing. go from 159 lbs. to being a light heavy weight overnight. No way Chavez should be fighting in the weight class anyways, but at least Martinez can say he beat a Light heavy weight now LOL.
