& with the 78 reupping with RCR & not having a driver. It is possible that Ryan & his lil' buddy Gilligan er..... I mean Truex could be teammates next year.

I saw Ryan and Martin talking at the qualifications and they both were laughing and seemed to be in good spirits.
I have to say that MWR really hurt Truex's career unless he finds a quality ride. I really do not think he was aware of what was being done. Maybe I am wrong, but I feel pretty sorry for what has happened to him. I don't think he should have been in the Chase. But loosing his ride is tough and not the fault of NAPA at all. This time of year there are so few options for him.

But I don't think anyone but the 15 team (meaning not the 56 or the 55) knew that the 15 was gonna spin out. The rest I am sure all three teams were involved in, but why tell Truex. The only thing they had to tell him was pass the next car & you are in (even if it is a lie) Make him run as hard as he can & not let him worry about everything else happening. Wouldn't do any good to let him in on the shenanigans IMO. Now the poor guy goes from being in the chase to having no sponsor & possibly no ride! or an underfunded one.

#56-Martin Truex, Jr. talked to the media after qualifying Friday afternoon in New Hampshire:
Where do you stand with Michael Waltrip Racing for next season?
"I don't know -- it's too early to tell to be honest with you. I wish I knew and I wish I could say, but a lot of circumstances have to play out and it's so late in the game and late in the season. People already know what they're doing next year -- this is definitely not the time of year you want to find out that you really don't have a ride next year, so to speak. I don't know, it's going to be tough, but we'll have to deal with it and hopefully we'll figure it out."
Would you like to stay at Michael Waltrip Racing?
"I really enjoyed my last four years at MWR (Michael Waltrip Racing) and I feel like we're getting to where we wanted to be when we started four years ago, and this is obviously going to set us back. But,I would love to be there. There's no guarantees right now -- it just depends on how everything goes down."
Is it possible NAPA go to another race team with you as the driver?
"We do have a great relationship and again, this has all happened so fast -- obviously, they're (NAPA) going to need a little time for the dust to settle and figure out what they're next move is. Just have to wait. I guess it's an option, yeah. I feel like we've got a great relationship. I feel like I've represented them well and I know they're happy with the job I've done on and off the race track. We'll just see where that leads. But right now honestly I have no idea what's going to happen."

Furniture Row, which doesn’t have a driver for 2014 to replace Kurt Busch in the No. 78 car, will wait to see what happens with Truex, said team general manager Joe Garone. While the organization would like to have sponsorship, it is the only high-profile team currently with an opening for 2014.
“He would certainly be on the radar to talk to,” Garone said about Truex. “He’s more than qualified to drive the 78.”

Not sure if Truex could push like Kurt did though. I like Truex and hope he gets a better chance at success than MWR at this point.

he doesn't wreck as often as Kurt does. BTW Furniture Row is not hurting for money at all.
